Jan Bervoets: “Abstracciones tangibles”

“Jan Bervoets is the poet of absolute freedom using engagement as weapon in a totally unpolitical way, so «feels» for me close to Benjamin Péret. No surprise he is one of the anarchists active here, using his pen in many articles in anarchist magazines.
As a poet he uses many many words, sentences and saying from popular and common language, slogans, advertisements etc. turning them into unexpected lines ; so he says it to be absolutely necessary for the surrealist poet to hit the streets. He says also: «I am taking the words back that advertisement steals from poetry!»”
Y Laurens Vancrevel: “In his poetry he tries for a definitive change of life and society, so nobody is being lived any more, but can choose for himself how to live and think.”
